Why the name Natural Motion Systems?
Natural as it refers to Nature.
Motion as it refers to movement or the activity of Nature. Systems as it refers to the systemization of Nature.
In systemization of natural motion we will find Philosophy, Principals, and Function. Translated into the vocabulary of NMS these are:
Philosophy is Strategy Principal is Tactics Function is Technique
These are the internal principles of NMS' dynamic system, both for Martial and Health sciences. The focus of NMS is on movement. "... That among entities there must be some cause (Essence) which moves and combines things ... There must then be a principle of such a kind that its substance is activity (- Aristotle Metaphysics)". The item to be aware of is if the movement follows correctly and naturally its governing principles . The goal of this system is to research, reeducate, and reclaim the mind, the body, and the spirit so that all movement and action returns to the natural instinctive abilities of the human body.
The key factor to making movement and action correct is basing it on Philosophy, Principal, and Function, not vice versa. The use of techniques is functional for drills or practice; but for true application, a Principal must be present at all times; and this Principal must be based on a specific natural Philosophy. Strategy is the plan or map that all tactics adhere to, inclusive of both Martial and Health Sciences. Tactics are the specific methods of execution for techniques. Strategy and tactics are in fact the foundation of NMS' training program and instruction. Since no two situations or persons are the same, the mastery of effective strategy and tactics allows techniques in dynamic and changing situations.
From this perspective of harmonious integration, NMS is more than just combat readiness or self-defense training; It is also a life nourishing, mental, spiritual, and educational training.
"Man follows Earth, Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows Tao, Tao follows Nature" -Lao Tzu Enlighten Master
NMS is based on the continuance of research and study. In the following pages, you will find historical bios on the researchers that make up NMS.
The first bio that is posted is that of Shen Gung.
